Quartzite

Quartzite is a hard metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. Quartzite is widely used in railway ballast and can also be used for walls, roofing, flooring, stair steps, and countertops. Quartzite is harder and more resistant to stains than granite and becoming more popular in kitchens.
